# Lists

> Use the Lists API to manage sets of values that Persona can flag during an Inquiry.

A list in Persona represents a set of predefined characteristics that should be flagged when encountered on inquiries. For example, these characteristics could be the government ID numbers of known fraudulent individuals or the IP addresses of allowlisted developers.
